Before it is over, I want to make the best of the "last" days of summer. While summer isn't officially over until September 21st, it is hard to do as much once real work rolls back around.
I don't really set goals for the different seasons, but I thought it would be fun to write about what is coming up and some potential things that I would like to do before the semester (the first one ever at my college) starts up.
Volunteer at the Sodus Point Triathlon
This weekend, Mike and I are volunteering again! This time we will be volunteering at the Sodus Point Triathlon. I don't know what our volunteer assignment is yet, but I'm sure whatever it is we will have a lot of fun.
100 on 100 Heart of Vermont Relay
That photo obviously is not from Vermont, but we get to be reunited with the lovely people in the photo! Mike and I are running a 100 mile relay with Crystal and Joe, as well as, their friends Janell and Aaron next weekend.
Go, Go Power Strangers!
That's right, our team name is "Power Strangers"! There might be a costume that someone, me, has to wear and we might annoy other teams at exchange points with the Power Rangers theme song.
We'll also be kayaking the day after the relay, as if running a relay wasn't active enough, and we'll be camping near the Connecticut River. Mike and I are planning on bringing our wetsuits so we can get in an open water swim while we are there.
I couldn't end the year with Musselman being our last triathlon, that just didn't seem right with months of the season left! I registered Mike and I for the sprint and I have some big goals, that I am not sharing, for this race. I'm excited to see what we can do!
The race is the same day as our friends', Sarah and Mark, wedding. So after racing, we'll get cleaned up and head to their wedding to celebrate with them! I can't wait!
Ride Around a Finger Lake
Mike and I have a goal to ride around all of the Finger Lakes, we've done two so far, and we haven't ridden around one yet this summer. I would love to end the summer with our longest ride, probably around 70 miles, so we may just take the opportunity to get one of the lakes done at that time.
If we do end up doing this ride, it would probably be on Labor Day weekend, since I don't have to work on Labor Day for the first time ever.
What final plans do you have for the summer?
