Never a Dull Moment

Remember this past April when Mike and I ran in the Seneca7?

Team 2012

Well you guessed it, we are registered for 2013!  Only two things will be different this year: our roster and our team name.  Unfortunately Rena will be unable to run with us but we have an amazing substitute, Jenny from The Little JBird!

At the Turning Stone Races half marathon

Instead of running for whoopie pies, we tried to be a little bit more creative this time around.  Our new team name is "Sole Sisters and their Misters".  We're planning on getting shirts for the ladies on the team that say "sole sisters" and shirts for Mike and Mark that say "the misters".

We are officially registered as of this morning, it will be interesting to see if our bib number is lower than "5" (which was our number last year).  Yes, I like to register early you never know when something could sell out!

In other news, Mike and I are running a race this weekend!

Not ashamed one bit that this is me

After watching our friends last weekend at the 50K, I got the trail bug (I'm even contemplating something pretty crazy!)  I threw out the idea of running Stage 3 at the Dirt Cheap Stage Races, they have three races all weekend, and Mike took the bait.  Stage 3 is an "epic" 11 mile race and I am excited, but nervous.  It will be our first trail race and even though we have run on trails I know it is going to be different from any other race that we have done.

We aren't just running the race on Sunday, though, we are also going to a 4.5 mile fun run with The North Face athlete Mike Wolfe on Saturday.  A new The North Face store opened in the Rochester area and this is one of their opening weekend events.  Most of the #trailsroc crew will be there and it should be a lot of fun.

Since we are doing this run on Saturday, that most likely means that the race on Sunday isn't going to be a "race".  We'll see how we feel though!

What are you up to this weekend? Any new races that you registered for?

  5. My best advice for that race is to run it for fun. Its longer than the trail runs you have done, and a pretty brutal course at times (though lots of it is REALLY runable! Those trails are beautiful! Take your time, have fun, enjoy the scenery!!!

  6. SENECA7, SENECA7, SENECA7--WOOHOO!! That is super exciting, Jamie, and I love your team name. We're still in the process of getting teammates. (We have four, so we need three more.) Have fun running and racing this weekend! I saw the North Face store when I went to Easvtview this fall--great news for the area.
