Where Do We Go From Here?

Happy Friday everyone! I'm linking up with Jill's Fitness Friday this week, go check out all of the other great blog posts!

It has been five days since the marathon and Mike and I have both run twice.   Mike's runs actually happened on the same day, but they were two separate runs regardless. 

I started out with a 2 mile run on Wednesday evening and it was probably a little bit shorter than I wanted to run, but it was a nice transition back.  Then last night, Mike and I went to the #TrailsRoc Ladies' Night run.  Guys were welcome too!  There were about 12 people total and it was a lot of fun running on the trails at night.  The pace was relaxed and the terrain wasn't too challenging, which I appreciated.

 I love all of the bright colors!

I'm really happy with how quickly I bounced back after the marathon, but I am still taking it pretty easy.  We are hoping to run 8-10 miles on Sunday, hopefully it goes well!

So what's next for us?

Tomorrow we are volunteering for the inaugural Great Lakes 100 Mile Triathlon, it should be a lot of fun!

In terms of racing, we aren't done for the year yet! Next weekend we have Reach the Beach: New Jersey and we can't wait!  It is going to be a lot of fun and you should follow me on twitter and instagram (@couch2ironwoman for both) to keep up with all of the shenanigans.  Check out #TeamRESR for lots of updates!

The rest of the year will be full of other races, a half marathon, a few 5Ks and the start of the Freezeroo Series.  

2013 is going to be epic because we will have not one but two marathons and a Half Ironman distance triathlon.  January 14th is the start of training for the redemption marathon!

  1. Wow, you bounced back quickly from the marathon--awesome! I've heard about the 100-mile triathlon, and it's great you and Mike are volunteering; it's nice to give back to the sport, and the triathletes who compete are so inspiring. Happy Friday!

  2. Nice! I have the 5K tonight. I am considering a variety of races that I might do. I haven't really signed up officially yet.

  4. You have a busy year of races- that's so exciting! I have a ten miler next weekend, a 5k in Nov and a half in December...haven't signed up yet but am also hoping to do the Houston full in January. Yay for marathon redemption races! :)

  6. You don't stop! The rest of my year is only focused on October right now - Tufts, MDI, then the TreadFest 5 miler. After that - I don't know. I KNOW I'll do races - just don't know which ones! Will I stick with my same old same old or will I try new ones???? Hmmm........

    As for 2013 - I WANT to do Sugarloaf but I want to do the Quoddy to Campobello Island Marathon too....and I want to do the Great Cranberry Island Ultra..... but we'll see what I really do. I may have to choose 1.

  7. You have a busy year ahead of you!! So great that you're recovering from the marathon so quickly. RTB sounds like such a fun race. Can't wait to follow along!

  8. Have the Mohawk Hudson half marathon this weekend; the Stockadeathon 15k, a 10k Turkey Trot in Va.Beach on Thanksgiving, and the start of the Winter Series in December. Probably a couple other races thrown in there!

  9. I so want to do a relay. When I saw you needed another... ohhh how I wished I wasn't injured!

  10. The rest of your year and 2013 are going to be awesome! For this year I have 3 more half marathons, a 3-race Runner's World weekend and a few themed 5Ks. Next year? 50 miles and I'm determined to run an endurance relay.
