The world works in funny ways, doesn't it?
I'm not going to go into much detail about it on the blog, although I could since this is after all my blog and writing is therapeutic for me, but how is it that in one day people you know and have known for the longest time can make you feel so horrible and a perfect stranger can make you feel so good?
Today I went out for a quick run in the morning, Mike will run later on tonight after his dentist appointment, near our house. While I was running down a side street a little boy, probably about 8 or 9 years old, yelled out to me, "you look pretty today!"
Well thanks little man, I appreciate it! This is one time I don't mind being yelled at while running. (Most of you probably weren't even reading my blog when I wrote that post!)
Coincidentally it is International Women's Day today.
I am thankful that I was born into a time when I am able to be a strong, independent, working woman with my own political, social and religious beliefs and opinions. Hardworking women (and men) before me pushed for gender equality and while it is better, I do not think the fight is over!
To all of you women out there, fight. Fight for what you believe in and do not give in nor change for anyone.
And remember, "you look pretty today!"
