Western New York Blogger Meetup

So far I have met two lovely ladies through blogging, although Ali doesn't blog anymore since she is so busy with grad school.  I know how that goes!

This weekend I am going to meet Ali and then the following weekend I am going to meet Jenny!

I can't stop there though, there are so many of you that I want to meet!

This morning while on Twitter, yes it is addicting but also informative, I found out from this lovely lady that the Color Run has a competitor!  Color Me Rad also has some colorful and fun 5Ks around the country and it just so happens that there is one in Albany, New York on June 9th.

I haven't talked to Mike about it yet, although I did post it on his Facebook (if you are friends with us on our personal Facebook pages you probably notice we share a lot of articles, websites, etc. with each other on Facebook), but I would LOVE to do this run.  We will have to do a long run the day after for marathon training but since this is just for fun I don't see the harm in running slowly with some friends.

That's right, friends.  This is where YOU (yes, you) and anyone else you know from the area (or anyone who is willing to travel to the area) come in!  I want to try to set up a blogger meetup at the Color Me Rad 5K fun run!

How fun would it be to run together and then throw our color packs in the air at the finale?

Registration hasn't opened for Albany yet but it looks like there are 4 waves every 5 minutes between 9-9:15am.  I would LOVE to set up a team so that way we would all be running in the same wave!

Who else is in and wants to run for fun and get colorful?

  5. I am most likely interested!! I just have to check the date of a 5k I do every year to be sure it isn't the same day. :)

    1. Oh we're not running the NYC half, I wish though! It's the Skunk Cabbage Half in Ithaca, New York (or Skunky as I call it).

It looks like it is $30 if you do early registration and if you like them on Facebook there is a 20% off code!

    1. Good luck studying! I really need to get moving on studying for my certification test (for sign language interpreting), not as stressful as the bar but I still need to study, ugh.

    1. We probably would head back to Rochester, sorry! It's just really expensive to board Bernie and we will be traveling enough as it is this summer. Hopefully that's alright!

  9. I'm sad. I can't. :( Well depends on where I get a job. I probably can't if I'm not working near there.

    1. It's alright!

Don't rule it out though, you never know where you'll end up :)

  10. Count me in! I was originally considering running the Lake Placid half this same weekend but it's pricey. While this 5K is pricey for the distance it looks like fun and it's close to home! Let me know team deets once you have them. ;)

  11. There's one in Colorado in May. Half my office wants to walk or run it - we've been managing a lot of work lately and are ready to blow off steam together. I am really looking forward to it!

  14. I discovered your blog through One Mon in Maine when we were both doing the clean food challenge, but I guess I never realized that you live in NY. I'm about 2.25 hours north of Albany! I'm seriously considering doing this run. It looks like so much fun! So, I know we don't "know" each other as bloggers yet, but if you're looking for other NY bloggers, I'm one.

    1. Awesome! I didn't realize that either!

That would be a lot of fun if you did it! I'm still waiting for the registration info, but as soon as it opens we are most likely going to do it.
