Clean Eating Day 5

You are all probably getting sick of these clean food posts, don't worry only three more (only two more days of clean eating for me!)

Yesterday was another 99% clean eating day!

Breakfast: Oatmeal with blueberries and coconut milk (this has been my breakfast almost everyday of the challenge) and a glass of orange juice

Lunch: Pineapple, strawberries and leftovers from Monday (some cheese)

Snack: Handful of almonds and two brown rice cakes

Dinner: Roasted sweet potato with savory, thyme and olive oil and a salad with spinach, mushrooms, some butternut squash (that I overcooked in the microwave), olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Mike had a regular potato with some other spices, not exactly sure what!

I miss ranch dressing

Dessert: Digestion smoothie

I also had 60 ounces of water, I don't feel like I need more than that but I also haven't worked out really hard this week.

Yesterday was the first day that I noticed I felt A LOT better than I normally do, with one exception. The cheese I ate didn't agree with me. Well that's not a shocker since I already know I have some issues with dairy but I just wonder why I don't notice it more when I eat "normally". I guess it is because I am used to it? I think I would rather feel how I do today!

I also may have gotten a "clean" sweat yesterday. Usually when I sweat on really long runs or intense workouts I get salt all over my face, but when I did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred (day two of Level 3) yesterday that didn't happen! It might have been because I never have a salty sweat when I do "the Shred", either way I am happy!

In other news, there are only a few more days to sign up for my birthday virtual race! (Go to the original post, here, and sign up!) I will be writing a "finish line" post with the race bib and it will also be where you can put your results. I decided to use Rafflecopter so hopefully it isn't too confusing for everyone!

Have you ever had a "clean" sweat before? Do you like butternut squash?


  1. Yesterday I ate really well and kept my sugar intake to a minimum. I had cheese for dinner and I did not feel good afterward. I think then we don't eat a lot of processed foods, and then eat dairy it really affects us more and so we notice it!

    Those sweet potatoes look so good! I love them!

    1. Oh no! I'm sorry you didn't feel well! I saw what you were making for dinner and I found a recipe for it and pinned it for a future recipe.

      I love sweet potatoes too!

  2. LOVE butternut squash :) mmmmmmmmmmm and I suck at clean eating. I'm so proud of how well you're doing. I'm signed up right??? - for your bday race???

  3. I don't know if I could eat a salad without ranch. That would be tough:) Good job staying clean. Glad you are feeling so good.

  4. I was going to ask if you were noticing anything with the dairy or feeling any different, looks like there is definitely a connection. Hang in there--you're doing awesome! Just a few more days!

    1. I definitely noticed yesterday! I think the first couple of times I had dairy it didn't really bother me but now that I have been eating clean for a few days I think it impacted me more.

      Only a day and a half now!
