CFC Day 6

First of all, we had a sad moment for our family last night. Our first pet that we had together, Newton a parakeet, passed away last night.

He was beautiful

Hopefully he has reunited with his brother, Isaac, who passed away a few years ago.  I do worry about our last bird, MJ, and I hope that he will be alright alone!

Now to happier things, yesterday was day 6 of the CFC!

Breakfast: Oatmeal with blueberries and coconut milk and a glass of orange juice

 This has been a staple

Lunch: Pineapple and two hard boiled eggs with shredded lettuce bought at work (it was really tough to go by the vending machines, Ben & Jerry's and Starbucks at the college I work at!)

Snack: Two rice cakes with tahini butter

Dinner: Vegetarian stuffed peppers with brown rice, organic chili beans and Chipotle Tabasco sauce (not 100% clean) and herb baked butternut squash with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, marjoram and parsley

I love stuffed peppers!

Dessert: A banana

Today we are off to Ithaca to hang out with Rena for the day!  We are going to drive the course of the Skunk Cabbage Half Marathon that we are running on April 1st and do who knows what else!  I'm going to try to eat as clean as possible for the last day of the challenge.

If you missed it, I wrote a post for the finish line of my birthday virtual race!

Have you had to deal with the loss of a pet?

  1. I'm so sorry about Newton. This past year I lost my cat that I have had since 1996 and a month later I had to go with Allan's mom to have her little dog put to sleep.

I hope you guys enjoy your drive of the half marathon course today!

    1. Thank you Suz! I have had to say goodbye to about 15 pets in my life and it never gets easier.

We had a lot of fun with Rena and her boyfriend!

  2. Oh no, I'm sorry about your bird. I've actually never had a pet pass away because I've never had one until college.

  4. I'm sorry about your sweet bird:( When I was growing up we had 2 parakeets. Within the last year we have had to put our 12 year old black lab and our 16 year old cat to sleep. SO sad. Just printed my bib, so excited for your race!

When Kiki's time comes at least you will know that she has had a long and meaningful life, it makes it a lot easier.
