Birthday Virtual Race Results

Thank you, thank you, thank you SO much to everyone who participated in my virtual race!  It was the first one that I hosted and I would say that it was a success!

Here are some highlights of the race (if you want to see who won all of the goodies you can just skip down to the bottom!):

Suzanne at Cows and Lasers and Everything In Between rocked the race finishing in 49:15 and she made me a sign!  You can read her race recap, here

Katy at Running the Classroom ran my race as her first ever virtual race!  After finishing the 3.4 miles in 37:47 she kept going and completed a 6 mile training run!  Take a look at her race recap, here

Jillie B at One Tough Cookie and a Beer ran 3.5 miles (.1 extra for good luck) in 32:22 and she didn't stop there she kept going to complete another virtual race (10K)!  We had a good chuckle about her race bib!  You can read her race recap, here

Jenny at The Little J-Bird kicked butt on a 12 mile training run on the TREADMILL (eww) and did it in 1:50!  Read her race recap, here

Hikermom at Livin the Fit Life ran the race after having the flu AND getting blood drawn!  She ran two virtual races at the same time and finished the 3.4 miles in 29:44.  Check out her race recap, here.

Deb's Daily Life walked the race on the treadmill with a 6 incline and finished in 59:50!  She was using it as a training walk for an upcoming race called the Mt. Summit Challenge which climbs over 1,200 feet!  Read her race recap, here

Sue (aka my mom) hiked 4.18 miles with my dad in 1:15.  She would have run/walked it (she is recovering from surgery) but my dad wanted to participate too and he can't run!

The rest of the participants didn't have photos, but they still rocked the race!

Joan (aka Mike's mom) ran the 3.4 miles in 31:44 and continued to run a total of 11 miles with her running team in 1:47.  I'm pretty sure she wore the race bib during her training run!

Kyria at the Travel Spot walked the race with her friend and the friend's baby in 1:06! Not bad for walking with a baby!

Jen at Running with the Girls ran the race during her 13 mile training run with her "girls" in 2:13!  Read her race recap, here.

Ironmom (aka Julie) at Zero to 140.6 ran her first "ultra" 5K and finished the 3.4 miles in 37:15.  Plus, she got a PR in the 5K at 31:49!  Her race recap can be found, here

Ali, my relay teammate for Around the Bay 30K, at Running with Spatulas walked the race since she has been having some hip issues with her family in 50:48.  They had a fun day eating and throwing pancakes!  Read her race recap, here

Upinthecosmos walked 4 miles around a lake in Minnesota in order to complete my virtual race and another virtual race!  She did it in 1:17 and you can read her recap, here

Cat, our relay teammate for the Seneca 7, ran the race in the wintry weather that showed up here in Rochester in 31:39.  She went on to run a total of 5 miles for the day.

Rena, another relay teammate for the Seneca 7, at Miles to go Before I Sleep ran the race with her boyfriend really late at night!  This was her first virtual race and they completed it in 41:46, they were also contending with winter weather.  Her race recap can be found, here

XLMIC at Taking it On got out and ran 3.5 miles, since she is an overachiever (her words not mine)!  She didn't monitor her time but she approximated it as 40 minutes.  The best part?  Two of her kids' birthdays were only a few days after mine!  You can read her race recap, here

I Run finished the 3.4 miles in 39:43 and even sang happy birthday to me in the blog post comment!

Nadine at Runnadinerun ran the race as her third race of the year, so far all virtual.  She has committed to one race every month!  She bundled up since it was freezing outside and ran the 3.4 miles in 38:57!  She kept going and ran a total of 14K!  You can read her full recap, here

SNW ran 4.5 miles in approximately 44 minutes!

Last, but definitely not least since she ran the most mileage of the day, Kristin at Sassphalt Runner ran her first MARATHON!!  She clocked her 5K time to be 33:57 and her marathon time was 5:00:15, so close to breaking the 5 hour mark!  I know she will next time, and yes this crazy girl is already planning her next one!  She is in the process of recapping her marathon experience, check out part 1 and part 2!

Now, for the moment you have all been waiting for, the winner!  Rafflecopter randomly selected one winner using random.org and I'm happy to announce the winner is:

For some reason the code wouldn't work, but the winner is on the finish line post too!

Jen at Running with the Girls!  I love her and I hope that when Mike and I go visit my parents this summer that I will get to meet her!  That's right, she's from Maine and she is going to be running my dream marathon this year, the MDI Marathon.  Ironically I just won one of her giveaways recently!

Jen, please email me your mailing address so I can mail you the prizes I have and your Tommie Copper calf compression sleeve size and I will pass that along to TC!

Thank you again to everyone for participating!  You made my birthday that much more special this year!

  9. Jamie...I'm so bummed that I had a senior moment (OK...week I guess), and this completely fell off my radar. I even ran 5 miles on the 4th. Oh well, I hope you had a wonderful birthday, and I'll try not to be so aid-headed next year !

    1. Haha it's alright! You did just run a marathon after all, so I would blame it on "marathon brain"!
