It's Christmas Time

In Rochester.

My mom and dad arrived yesterday evening and we have been busy getting things ready for our Christmas celebration. We've been making deviled eggs, cheese balls and whoopie pies from a mix that Mike's mom bought me last year. I think that the whoopie pies are going to be really good!

On Wednesday my mom and I decided that we wanted to make the gnocchi recipe that Vanessa at Gourmet Runner posted a few days ago. We had a few issues with it being too sticky (we did double the recipe, though) but hopefully it is going to turn out alright!

Gnocchi-making fun

A few weeks ago I decided that I wanted to participate in Daily Vitamin F's Christmas Virtual 5K. My mom, Mike and I are all going to run it together and I can't wait! I will be wearing the same outfit that I wore for the It's a Wonderful Run 5K two weeks ago.

The only thing left is for my brother to arrive at the airport at 11pm, then we can get our celebration on!

Happy Holidays everyone!

  2. I want to try that recipe too. If there's one thing I've found through doing recipes it is NEVER double it. just make two separate batches. Annoying but somehow it never turns out.

Just found you through Amylee :D

  5. Thanks everyone!

Ali Mc - We are definitely going to try to make one batch next time. It came out great but we used WAY too much flour!
